Consigned by an important private collector and presented in superb condition, the present watch has never been offered at auction before. Furthermore, to the best of our knowledge it is the first gold reference 3800/1 retailed by Gübelin to appear at auction and only one of two pieces known publically.

A Gübelin signature is extremely rare to find on any Nautilus model and consequently these watches are amongst the most desirable and sought after pieces of the range.

The reference 3800 was in production from 1981 until 2006 and available in different versions. It pays homage to the original Nautilus reference 3700 with a similar design and aesthetic except in a smaller size case and with the addition of a centre seconds hand made possible by the introduction of the Patek Philippe caliber 335 SC.
