Christina Buley-Uribe will include this work in her catalogue raisonné des dessins et peintures d'Auguste Rodin.

Executed circa 1896-1900, this work is one of Rodin’s first watercolor nudes, using natural colors (brown, ochre, orange, gray). It can be compared to the series of drawings that belonged to Georges Clemenceau, discovered a few years ago at the Musée Clemenceau in Paris (see C. Buley-Uribe, “Clemenceau et ses trente-deux dessins de Rodin,” La Revue de l’Art, no. 172, 2011, pp. 49-60). A related drawing is in the collection of the Musée Rodin, Paris.
