Featuring a highly unusual linear display for the perpetual calendar with all relevant apertures in a vertical line, the reference 7717 is a fine example of Breguet’s heritage in this complication. Starting with the day at the top then desecending to month around the base of the hands in the centre of the dial and finishing with date and leap year indicator in concentric rings at the bottom, the calibre 502 has also found its way into this year’s Only Watch auction in a unique reference 7715, the larger successor of the 7717.
