“The problem for an artist is not to be considered “contemporary” but to actually be an artist. The essence of being truly modern, or even contemporary, resides in the stretching toward that very moment. There is a big misunderstanding and an even bigger hoax in the way that the word “contemporary” is used nowadays, because of it, we mistake playful entertainment and uncritical exaltation of daily routine of current times with the true face of contemporary art”.
