The present “Andersen 1884 World Time” is preserved in very good original overall condition. It is number 090 of the limited edition of 120 examples, comprising 50 examples in pink gold, 50 in white gold and 20 in platinum.

Svend Andersen launched his first World Time wristwatch, called “Communication” referring to the first wristwatch with world time display by Louis Cottier, followed by “Christophorus Colombus” and “Mundus”. The present “1884” model is from the fourth series launched in 2004, in honour of Sir Sandford Fleming, inventor of the "Universal Coordinated Time" and the orchestrator of the "First Meridian Conference" held in Washington in October 1884. The gold rotor features Flemig’s portrait, name, years of birth and death, and the words “inventor of world time.”
