According to the Archives of Piaget, the present watch was manufactured in 1969.
Preserved in exceptional condition, this striking gold watch with vibrant lapis lazuli hardstone dial is without doubt a masterpiece of Piaget’s avant garde 1960s production.
Propelled by the incredible creative momentum of the period, Piaget raised hard stones to the rank of precious stones. Colour became the hallmark of the brand including jade, coral, lapis lazuli, tiger's eye, and turquoise. Over 30 different stones were to adorn a stunning array of exceptional models, their interaction with light, inclusions and subtle nuances giving a unique character to each creation. Piaget created astonishing graphic effects by combining various hard stones, combined with their meticulous use of gold to create showpiece jewellery designs which are as relevant and glamourous today as they were when first created.
