The present ref. 492 is believed to be one of less than five examples of this model in pink gold to have appeared in public to date, however the only one with black dial confirmed by the Extract from the Archives.
Reference 492 was in production from 1936 until the late 1940s. It features the modern, yet typical Art Deco style case was designed to fit around the wrist and is also called "Railway" because of its aerodynamic look and the stepped sides.
The highly elegant design of reference 492 served as inspiration for the creation of reference 5105, the limited edition in platinum made to commemorate the reopening of Patek Philippe's Salons in Geneva in 2006.
