PROTOTYPE UNIQUE CASE AND APPLIED BREGUET INDEXES DIAL, 40’S VENUS 150 MONOPUSHER RENEWED IN SWITZERLAND. THE SOUL OF THE PAST MIXED INTO A UNIQUE NEW TIMEPIECE FOR ONLY WATCH.
BALTIC is happy to join the ONLY WATCH auction to help find a cure for Duchenne Muscular dystrophy. As an analogy we have created a unique Monopusher Pulsometer chronograph using an old 1940’s Venus 150 monopusher movement.
This scale is used in conjunction with the watch’s chronograph complication to provide medical information. This pulsometer scale is calibrated for 30 heartbeats (or pulsations). Start the chronograph timer and count the beats until you get to 30 pulsations. Stop the chrono and you will read the heart rate in beats per minute.
Pulsations are at the heart of any living entities: inside this chronograph beats an old Venus from 1940’s which has been doing its job for more than 80 years. This monopusher caliber has been entirely renewed in Switzerland to run smoothly these thin gold leafs hands around a beautiful glossy black dial. As an evocation to the 40’s we have designed a profound black dial on which we’ve applied a set of Breguet indexes that gives superb reflections and relief.
HISTORY OF THE BRAND
«I inherited a collection of watches from a father that I never got the chance to know well. He was a photographer, a watch collector and a passionate man. He recorded his watch collection in a journal, keeping track of every watch that passed through his hands, with the history of each watch, price paid, from whom and what he traded for it in the case of a barter. Being immersed in his journal and his collection for the past fifteen years began my own passion story. My father’s legacy led me to other collectors, and has been the backdrop for building our watch-making vision here at BALTIC. Naming our company BALTIC is the perfect homage to my father’s passion, and the ultimate way to express my inspirations through our creations. This name is a tribute to my father’s origins in north Poland along the Baltic Sea; his story will endure through our watches. We aim to create timeless watches inspired from the vintage pieces in my father’s collection—to be worn and kept for generations.»
