According to the Archives of Audemars Piguet, the present watch was sold in 1983 in Switzerland.
Of all the Royal Oaks created, the present timepiece attracts the curiosity of many though the captivating "petite tapisserie" gilt dial beautifully harmonizing with the 18k gold case. It is one of the most striking and attractive examples of the model, furthermore offered in very good overall condition.
Reference 4100 was originally introduced in 1972 alongside the celebrated ref. 5402, with the same bold yet elegant design but in a smaller case.
