Although Audemars Piguet has produced some of the finest skeletonized watches throughout its history, a skeletonized version of the Royal Oak always stands out. While it's commonly understood that a watch's balance wheel serves as its core, regulating accuracy, a typical horological challenge emerges when a timepiece with a single balance and hairspring is tilted vertically. Gravity pulls the hairspring off-center, thus impacting its precision. Taking a significant step forward, this problem was effectively addressed with the introduction of the reference 15407. This model incorporates two superimposed balance wheels, each accompanied by its own hairspring.
Beyond its impressive technical characteristics, the watch's visual and tactile aspects are equally captivating. Housed within a contemporary 41 mm. stainless steel Royal Oak case, the skeletonized caliber 3132 is adorned to provide visual delight. All bridges are coated with a ruthenium finish, giving the entire movement a gunmetal sheen, except for the balance bridge.
