The impressive dinner service to which these coolers belong was made for Florent-Louis-Marie, comte du Châtelet-Lomont, who served as both Minister-Plenipotentiary of France to Austria and later as Ambassador to Great Britain. Delivered on 31 December 1767, the service included six seaux à topette at a cost 114 livres each. See D. Peters, Sèvres Plates and Services of the 18th Century, 2005, vol. II, pp. 377-378, cat. no. 67-3 for a further discussion.
