Edgar Degas sculptures

Edgar Degas sculptures are celebrated for their ability to capture movement and the human form. His innovative use of materials, particularly in his wax sculptures, allowed Degas to explore the nuances of motion and gesture. Depicting dancers, bathers and racehorses, his sculptures reveal a deep understanding of anatomy and fluidity. Though many of his wax sculptures were cast in bronze posthumously, they retain the immediacy and dynamism of Degas’s original vision, cementing his status as a master of both sculpture and painting in the late 19th century.
