Accompanied by Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin and Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1999 and its subsequent sale on 8 December 2000, presentation box and outer packaging, spare 18K white gold snap on back and white gold and wooden setting pin. It has never been offered in public before and is one of only 31 examples of reference 3940 in white gold to appear at auction to date.

Reference 3940 was launched in 1985, the white gold model was in production until 2006. It is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, p. 292-293.
