Trained as an architect, Basilico focuses on the transformations of urban spaces, whether through destruction, such as in post-war Beirut, rebuilding, as in post-wall Berlin, or in the architecture of the post-modern city. He seeks out boundary spaces where new and old merge, creating meditative works which reflect the transitional nature of the contemporary cityscape.
