In this series of works which explore the forms of Persian calligraphy, Sadegh Tabrizi's use of materials recalls those of early manuscripts of the Holy Qur'an. Scribes working in Iran and the Middle East as far back as the 9th century wrote the stately kufic script in black ink on parchment to dramtic effect, glorifying the sacred Qur'anic text. The content of this series, however, is purely abstract.
