...More than a system of forms, his painting is a system of allusions. In his painting, colors, lines and volumes play the game of echoes and correspondences. Equivalencies and differences, shouts and answers. A painting that does not tell a story but speaks without words: toward another reality. Invisible but present, in each of Gerzso's paintings there is a secret. His painting does not show that secret: it points toward it. It is beyond the painting. More exactly, it is behind the painting.
