Accompanied by an undated Cartier International Guarantee, red leather presentation box, leather envelope and outer packaging.

Designed in 1917 by Louis Cartier, the grandson of founder Louis-Francois Cartier, the unique Tank watch was modeled after the horizontal section of the Renault military tank used by the French in the First World War. The rigid yet elegant style made a clean break from the trends of the time and the watch was instantly recognized as a modern classic. The first prototype of the Tank was given to General John Pershing, Commander of the American Expeditionary Force in Europe. The original Tank Louis Cartier would inspire other Cartier classics including the Tank Francaise, the Tank Americaine, and the Tank Divan. Cartier first sold the Tank Louis Cartier in 1919. 2009 celebrates the 90th Anniversary of the Tank model.
