With Zenith original fitted presentation box.

The present watch is fitted with the legendary calibre 135 movement which for five years in a row (from 1950 to 1955) was awarded prizes at the Neuchâtel Observatory, including a timing record in the "wrist-chronometer" category in 1954.

Watch movements competing for an accuracy certification at the Observatory were specifically developed and constructed for this purpose. These slow beat movements, oscillating at rates ranging from 18,000 to 21,600 bph, typically with oversized balance wheels, were prepared by the best watchmakers often for many years to render ultimate accuracy before entering a trial.

Distinguished by its outstanding technical design and its elegant sobriety, the Chronomètre Port Royal is amongst the most beautiful creations in vintage watchmaking. The present watch furthermore stands out by its excellent, original overall condition.
