Scars of an Ancient Error, is the first painting from the series with the same title. In this work, TV Santhosh depicts a scientific lab-scape as a metaphor for progress, with the juxtaposition of a partial skull acting as a constant reminder of death and the negative effects that come with technological development. Rife with political commentary, his paintings reflect the complexity of current and historic global crises, wars, terrorism, and violence which resonate on both the global and local level. The bright yet starkly contrasting palette of green, red, and purple enhances the element of violence. Scars of an Ancient Error is a powerful vision which leaves a lasting impression and implores the audience to re-evaluate the politics of war and terrorism - a plea to identify the real enemy.
