According to the Archives of Eberhard & Co.i the present watch was manufactured in 1991.

Designed to reference the dashboard of racing cars, the present model was dedicated to the famed Italian car racing driver Tazio Nuvolari. His facsimile signature is engraved to the case back.

Tazio Giorgio Nuvolari (1892-1953) was an Italian motorcycle and race car driver, known as Il Mantovano Volante (The Flying Mantuan). Dr Ferdinand Porsche purportedly called Nuvolari "The greatest driver of the past, the present, and the future."
