With Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin confirming the sale of the present watch with movement no. 1'305'904 on 12 October 1978. According to the Extract from the Archives, the present watch with yellow gold bracelet was manufactured in 1978 and sold on 28 September 1978. The Extract further states that the original movement was replaced by movement bearing the number 1'310'623 during a servicing in the firm's workshops in 1986. Also delivered with a copy of the Estimation Report for the watch by Swiss retailer Bucherer, dated 21 March 2007.

Consigned by a descendant of the original owner, the present watch has never been offered in public before.

The celebrated Nautilus reference 3700/1 was launched in 1976 and remained in production until 1986. The model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, p. 231.
