Amidst Flowing Streams and Gushing Springs

A native of Chang Ping, Beijing, Xu Zhiqian held various roles in the arts from 1920, as creative director and editor of calligraphy and seal script for the Shanghai Commercial Printing Press, Shanghai Rong Bao Zhai and Beijing Rong Bao Zhai. He was also a member of the China Calligraphic Association.
