With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with anti-magnetic calibre 27 AM 400 in 1963 and its subsequent sale on 20 November 1963. Furthermore delivered with original Patek Philippe fitted brown presentation box.

To the best of our knowledge, this watch has never been offered in public before and is furthermore only the fifth example of this reference fitted with the rare antimagnetic calibre 27 AM 400 to appear in public to date.

Reference 1578 was introduced to the market in 1943 and made in three series, the majority fitted with calibre 12-120 or 12-400 movements. A small series fitted with the antimagnetic calibre 27 AM 400 was produced between the late 1950s and mid-1960s.
