Mr. H. van der Vuurst de Vries was a physician in Utrecht. He and his wife Mrs. J. van der Vuurst de Vries-Godin were both portrayed by Jan Sluijters in 1926.

To be included in the catalogue raisonné on the artist's work, currently being prepared by the Netherlands Institute for Art History (RKD) in The Hague.
