Thence by descent
Dr. Fireman was a scientist and soil irrigation specialist affiliated with the University of California, Davis, and an agricultural consultant for the World Bank. From 1961-62, while working with the Rockefeller Foundation, the Firemans lived in New Delhi. Flora Fireman, an artist, became friends with Shiv Kapoor and embraced the Indian art scene. This work was acquired during their stay in India.
