'This age of movement, information and fluctuation has taken on such a huge importance. I want to register at least a bit of this aspect of movement also on the stationary location, on these physically defined locations - especially architecture. Today we are no longer in an age of movement, but we experience a state of full throttle, which is not stopped any more. And for me those are aspects that in the end force this flexibility or movement'.
(F. Ackermann, quoted in 'What is the Dream Sequence in Painting?', Imagination Becomes Reality. Part 1. Expanded Paint Tools, exh. cat., ZKM,Museum für Neue Kunst, Karlsruhe 2007, p. 46).
