With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1960 and its subsequent sale on 23 December 1960. The extract further states that the present watch is fitted with 40 diamonds for approx. 3.25 carats.
Reference 3441 was launched in 1959 and is probably one of the most exclusive models from the manufacture as there has only ever been one piece in production at the same time. The model, cased in platinum only with screw back and a bezel set with 40 baguette-cut diamonds of the finest quality, is pure yet powerful. To the best of our knowledge, the present watch is believed to be one of only four examples known to exist.
Consigned by an important private collector, the present watch has never been offered in public auction before.
The model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second édition, p. 217, pl. 348 and in Patek Philippe in America Reference Guide, Vol. 1, by John Reardon, p. 97.
