An Edwardian sapphire, pearl and diamond pendant
The central cushion-cut sapphire, weighing approximately 13.42 carats, within an openwork cartouche surround of foliate design millegrain-set with old brilliant-cut diamonds, suspending a natural pearl, measuring approximately 6.5-8.1 x 9.5mm, to a detachable diamond-set loop, circa 1910, detachable brooch fitting and trace-link chain provided, 7.6cm long, fitted case
The sapphire accompanied by report no. 67644 from the Swiss Gemmological Institute (SSEF), dated 11th April 2013, stating that the sapphire was found to be natural with no indications of heating, origin: Ceylon (Sri Lanka).
The pearl accompanied by report no. 08109 from The Gem & Pearl Laboratory, dated 5th July 2013, stating that the pearl was found to be natural, saltwater.
