With Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin dated 20 December 2006 and an Attestation dated the same day, confirming that the watch was specially created in 2006 to mark the inauguration of the Salons Patek Philippe in Geneva and is part of a limited series of 100 pieces in platinum. The Attestation further explains that the tool and dies used to make the limited series have been destroyed, thus ensuring that the reference 5105 in platinum will never be produced again. Furthermore delivered with a medal with the inscription Inauguration des Nouveaux Salons, Patek Philippe, Geneve, 1939-1892-2006, product information booklet, tag, Patek Philippe original dark brown presentation box and outer packaging.
The watch is also accompanied by a Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with silvered dial and white gold indices in 2006 and its subsequent sale on 21 December 2006.
Patek Philippe brought out reference 5105 in a limited edition of 100 examples in platinum to celebrate the inauguration of its new Salons in Geneva. The present watch is fresh to the market and has never been used. It has a neat and very smooth feel when put on the wrist, the subtle play between the satin-finish of the bezel and the mirror-polish of the sides catches the eye, highlighting the elegance of the piece.
The elegant Art Deco inspired reference 5105 with its streamlined rectangular case is based on its compelling predecessor reference 492 from 1936.
When the Patek Philippe watch department moved from its historic headquarters in the centre of Geneva to its new headquarters in 1996, one hundred cal. 9'''90 movements were found stashed away in an old wooden chest on the sixth floor. These movements originating from 1959 are now featured inside reference 5105, making the model a rare treasure.
