Each with a circular terminal, containing portraits of Grand Duke Alexander Mikhailovich and Grand Duchess Xenia Alexandrovna, within rose-cut diamond borders, enclosed in turquoise enamelled bands, reeded circular mounts at the back of each terminal with a double-clip connection, marked on clips
Each terminal: 1 in. (2.5 cm.) diameter

Grand Duke Alexander Mikhailovich (1866-1933) was born in 1866 to Grand Duke Mikhail Nikolaevich, the youngest son of Emperor Nicholas I (1796-1855), and Grand Duchess Olga Feodorovna (1839-1891), née Princess Cecily of Baden. In 1894, Alexander married Grand Duchess Xenia Alexandrovna (1875-1960), the eldest daughter of Emperor Alexander III and sister of the future Emperor Nicholas II.
