From time to time a Christie’s group company (excluding Christie’s Auction (Shanghai) Co. Ltd.) may offer a lot which it owns in whole or in part. This is such a lot. This Lot has been sourced from overseas. When auctioned, such property will remain under “bond” with the applicable import customs duties and taxes being deferred unless and until the property is brought into free circulation in the PRC. Prospective buyers are reminded that after paying for such lots in full and cleared funds, if they wish to import the lots into the PRC, they will be responsible for and will have to pay the applicable import customs duties and taxes. 在本次拍品《絲綢之路 (A:a—2)》(Lot 46) 源於《聯合國》專案。谷文達將各國人的髮絲結成一個圓形—他認為,現代生物科學和遺傳工程通過DNA 可以從一絲頭髮中得到人類的所有資訊,藉以說明人類歷史上那段中國和阿拉伯世界頻繁接觸時期,頻繁多樣的商業往來與文化交流。 1993 年,谷文達開始創作《聯合國》計畫,此作品也成為這位元中國藝術家走進西方藝術世界的代表作。“那個時候,凡是不在英美體系的外國藝術家都面臨著被邊緣化的困境,這個困境也困擾了我很長時間,直到《聯合國》作品,我才覺得解放了。它不僅涉及400 多萬人的頭髮,也觸及了不同文化的包容性問題”。 谷文達曾師從陸儼少先生,系統的研習過中國書法、山水畫以及印章雕刻技術。此作品的下半部是沿用他以往善用的錯位、肢解的書法文字做水墨畫,看似篆書體異形字,結構類似“樂”。谷文達對於文字與形象和諧統一的烏托邦式的追求,正是中國觀念水墨藝術與西方不拘一格創作手法完美結合的傑出代表。
