Abraham Favre began his career in 1718 and registered his brand name in 1737. The firm continued under the family name until 1814 when Abraham’s grandson Henri entered in to a partnership with Auguste Leuba and formed Favre-Leuba. They were one of the first brands to enter in to the Indian market. As can be seen by the present example, they manufactured high-grade complicated watches. This example in lovely condition demonstrates attention to detail and function with its two train movement, dual time zone and jump center seconds. The firm remained in the family until the 1960s when it was sold.
