Marcel Hüppauff is known for his comic, cartoon inspired landscapes, which have steadily grown more abstract over the years. In Willkommen we encounter a perverse version of the children’s book Where the Wild Things Are, or else perhaps Shakespeare’s The Tempest, re-imagined through the lens of a pirate’s encounter with aliens, in addition to the monsters also inhabiting the island.
