Patek Philippe post-war wristwatches made with plain enamel dials are a rarity. Collectors around the world associate only two "time only" models with this highly elegant yet uncommon feature, costly to manufacture and sensitive to careless handling: the celebrated reference 2526 and its successor reference 3428.

Reference 2577, the third in this league, must however be considered one of Patek Philippe's rarest models ever made. According to literature, reference 2577 was launched in 1956 and remained in production until the 1960s. The model most likely never went beyond either a prototype or "special order" status as to the best of our knowledge to date, approximately 60 examples of this ultra-rare reference were made; the majority in yellow gold cases and, exceedingly rare in pink gold cases, as in this present lot. This offering provides a rare opportunity for the astute collector to acquire one of Patek Philippe’s most rare and classically timeless timepieces.
