Faraway Woods

The figures and animals in Pan Wenxun's painting possess an ethereal serenity inspired by early figure paintings, particularly from the Wei, Jin and Tang Dynasties. Her choice of mineral pigments recalls the palette of the ancient mural paintings, colours faded with the passing of time, resulting in striking images with an ineffable presence. Pan Wenxun graduated from China Academy of Art and currently lives in Hangzhou.
