Among all models ever made by Breitling, “Duograph” split-seconds chronographs are certainly to be counted as some of rarest and most desirable. Given their rarity and value, it is no wonder that many questionable and less desirable examples have appeared to the market in recent years missing the all-important Duograph text to the dial.
Presented in exceptionally honest and handsome condition, this reference 766 has been very well preserved with attractively aged dial with luminous accents and case showing beautifully defined stepped lugs. As a testament to the collector who is offering this watch, they even had an exhibition case back made so they could view the intricate workings of the calibre, whilst carefully storing the original case back, which has been refitted for the auction.
Given the increasing demand from collectors for split-seconds chronographs, which are noted to be some of the most complicated and demanding movements to make, the present watch is a truly rare opportunity to purchase a beautiful example of the rare Duographs that so rarely come to market.
