Production of the reference 2443 was introduced in 1948. Only a few hundred were made in gold and very few examples were produced in platinum such as the present watch.

Fresh to the market, this example is one of only ten identified, one currently resides in the Patek Philippe museum.

Reference 2443 is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banberry, 1998 edition, page 134. Caliber 9'''90 is illustrated in the same edition on page 129.
