A SUPERB PRIVATE COLLECTION INCLUDING LATOUR WITH PERFECT PROVENANCE
The following collection is the flagship collection of this auction, and an offering of superb quality. The owner of the collection is one of the world's great wine connoisseurs and built the collection over many decades. The focus of the collection is on the greatest wines of Bordeaux, along with superb Champagne, Rhône and Italian wines. The central focus of this collection is one of the finest selections of wines from Château Latour we have seen in years. The majority of the Latour wines in the collection are late release bottles and in pristine condition, having been kept in the cellars of Château Latour until May 2003, after being re-corked and offered in Christie's sale; Including Historic Wines Direct from the Cellars of Château Latour on May 22nd 2003. Highlights from the magnificent offering include a case of six magnums of the legendary Latour 1961, and a case of bottles of its superlative sibling from 1959. 1900 Latour in magnum and half bottles and a broad selection of other superb vintages from 1926, 1948, 1970, 1982 and 1996. Alongside the collection of wines from Latour, the cellar includes magnums and bottles of Cheval Blanc 1990 and Margaux 1982 and 1996.
