Designed in 1941 to accompany the bicycle designed at the same time, this bicycle trailer should facilitate the travel of employees within the Ateliers Prouvé and to their homes. Produced in a few example, this utilitarian object was never industrialized and reflects his humanist, almost utopist, approach of Jean Prouvé. Like the bicycle, this trailer makes the best use of the very limited resources available to the Jean Prouvé workshops in wartime and is probably built on the same machines as those used for his furniture and architectural works. This everyday object, imbued with the creative genius of Jean Prouvé, illustrates his systemic constructive thinking in a period of upheaval and transformation.
