Ex Christie's - May 1976. English bottled by Fearon Block Bridges and Routh. Corroded and damaged capsules emboseed with FBB & R. No labels. one bottle from case opened as tasting sample, to confirm vintage and shipper. Levels: base of neck or better
Tasting Note: Still looking relatively youthful with a bright ruby colour. Very intense aromas with rich black and red fruits exploding from the glass; blackberry, strawberry, plum and cassis. Stunningly complex aromatics ranging from floral violet notes to liquorice and cinnamon spice notes -each nose in the glass revealing more. Powerful and rich flavours with amazing concentration of black cherry and blackberry fruit character. Supremely well balanced with refined tannins and an incredible intensity of flavours yet with poise and precision and an exceedingly long finish. Undoubtedly one of the finest vintage ports I have tasted. 100 Points. Tasted October 2021. Tim Triptree MW
