This work was executed in the visitors book of the restaurant Chez Marianne in Le Marais. Jean Cocteau, Léonard Tsuguharu Foujita, and many others left signed and dedicated drawings. The book included numerous dedications, poems and signatures dating from 1922 through to 1951 including Maurice Chevalier, Jules Massenet, Maurice Rostand, Abel Gance, Jules Romains, Prince Paul of Serbia, Sacha Guitry, Josephine Baker and Mistinguett.
