百達翡麗Nautilus型號5980於2006年巴塞爾鐘錶展初次登場，以慶祝由Gérald Genta設計的經典型號3700/1推出 30週年。此腕錶配備運動腕錶最重要的計時功能，以及著名的「牛眼」輔助錶盤。此設計首次出現在 型號5960上，其錶盤內部展示小時，外圈則顯示分鐘，成功擄獲了藏家的心。5980更搭載百達翡麗完全自家製作的計時機芯28-520 C
