This month’s American Art sale includes more than 95 lots with a strong selection of modernist paintings, featuring Georgia O’Keeffe, Max Weber, Arthur Dove and the rare to the market modernist artist, Rebecca Salsbury James. From O’Keeffe’s majestic Red Hills with Pedernal, White Clouds and Milton Avery’s Early Spring to Weber’s urban-inspired New York and Thomas Moran’s The Grand Cañon of the Colorado, Near the Junction of the Little Colorado, Moran Point, the American Art auction covers the spectrum of both topography and the American artist. Also highlighted are exceptional paintings from Norman Rockwell, Maxfield Parrish and an Alfred Jacob Miller that has been in private hands since 1854.
