Our November 20^th American Art auction features an outstanding selection of works ranging from American Modernism and Illustration to the Hudson River School and art of the American West. The sale includes strong works from the Wyeth family, including Andrew Wyeth’s stunning tempera Oliver’s Cap from the Ron and Diane Disney Miller Collection and a striking N.C. Wyeth of the infamous pirate Blackbeard. American Modernist icons, such as Edward Hopper, Georgia O’Keeffe and Marsden Hartley, feature alongside Grant Wood’s charming Adolescence. The Collection of Richard L. Weisman headlines our offering of American Illustration with Norman Rockwell’s Harvest Moon, while nineteenth-century works include a rare Civil War oil painting by Winslow Homer. Further highlights of the sale are a beautiful Isles of Shoals painting by Childe Hassam and Western works by Albert Bierstadt and Eanger Irving Couse.

The auction will be exhibited in our Rockefeller Center galleries in New York from 16-19 November.

Please be advised Christie’s offices will be closed starting December 20, 2019 and will re-open on January 2, 2020. To receive your property before our offices close, please be aware of the following deadlines:

For international shipments, full and clear payment of both principal and shipping must be received by December 11, 2019. For domestic shipments, full and clear payment of both principal and shipping must be received by December 13, 2019.

If your shipment is unable to be booked by these dates, we will be happy to hold your property in storage and help make shipping arrangements in the new year.
