A striking portrait by James Ensor, a Lion of the Atlas Mountains by Bugatti, an iconic painting by Van Dongen, a dazzling Chagall or a fresh and jovial pastel by Renoir… just to name a few of the highlights of the Art Moderne sale. Covering a wide and rich range of most of the 20th century art trends, from Renoir to Le Corbusier, from Miro to Botero, from Dufy to Poliakoff. The core of the sale features several collections, including that of more than thirty works by leading modern Belgian artsts, from Khnopff to Ensor, or the five works from the Madeleine and Joseph Nash collection, who already donated several worls to the Israel Museum of Jerusalem, and a small group of works sold to benefit the pharmalogical Instituto Mario Negri of Milan.
