Impressionist/Modern Day Sale
Sale Overview
The Impressionist and Modern Day Sale realized £13,344,825 /$20,270,789 / €17,828,6861.
Keith Gill, Head of Sale commented: “This sale showed the continuing strength of international demand for works by the leading artists of Impressionist and Modern art including Juan Gris, Pablo Picasso, Fernand Léger, Marc Chagall and Pierre-Auguste Renoir. We are particularly pleased with the strong results for German artists, exemplified by the stellar price achieved for the top lot by Ernst Ludwig Kirchner which was on the market for the first time in over 60 years and sparked a fierce bidding battle between two European private collectors. We now look forward to the South Kensington sale of Impressionist/Modern & Picasso Ceramics on 6 February 2015.”
