Paul Destribats : une bibliothèque des Avant-gardes.

Sale Overview

Suprematism, Constructivism, Neo-Primitivism or Cubo-Futurism are all major movements of the Russian Avant-garde that have inspired Western Art in a lasting and radical way. Artists have used books to spread their work and explain their artistic theories, making printed media works of art in their own right.  The Paul Destribats collection offers an unparalleled set of integrity and completeness.  It notably includes works by Goncharova, Kamensky,  Rozanova, Kruchenykh; Malevich, Mayakovsky, Chagall and El Lissitzky. The collection includes more than 600 volumes. In likeness to its owner and the great collector he was, this collection remains visionary, erudite - the result of a passion for books and art and the revolutions they cause, fuel, and unleash.
