The 21st Century Day Sale is proud to present a selection of exquisite works that define the leading artistic sensibilities of today’s contemporary art scene. This season brings together important artists representing the last 40 years of arts and culture. Lead by Yayoi Kusama’s era-defining yellow pumpkins and ground-breaking infinity-nets, the sale also celebrates the significant output of George Condo’s striking cartoon caricatures and Yoshitomo Nara’s wide-eyes little children coming from the esteemed collection of Hiromichi Nakano.
Covering a broad range of cultural dialogues across regional boundaries, the sale presents a curated encapsulation of worldwide dynamism. It fuses a diverse array of celebrated artworks from championed artists in Asia, including Japanese painters and sculptors MR., Izumi Kato, Kohei Nawa, Atsushi Kaga, and Ayako Rokkaku as well as seminal contemporary Chinese art figures, including Liu Ye, Zhang Xiaogang, Zhang Enli, Huang Yuxing and Xia Yu. This season will also offer a global vision featuring remarkable interactions between cultures beyond Asia, including Antony Gormley, Alex Katz, Loie Hollowell, Dana Schutz, Michaela Yearwood-dan, Hernan Bas, Scott Kahn and SALVO.
