This Spring, the Important Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art auction presents more than 200 extraordinary lots, spanning from the Neolithic to the Republic period. Leading the sale is a pair of important and extremely rare huanghuali yoke-back armchairs dating to the 17th century, and a very rare large, celadon-glazed relief-decorated ‘lotus’ and ‘dragon-handle’ vase dating to the Qianlong period. The auction also showcases forty-seven pieces of remarkable Song to Qing ceramics from the esteemed Kwong Yee Che Tong Collection, amassed by the late Vivian Chan Nap Yee (Emeritus Professor of Molecular Medicine – Hong Kong University Queen Mary Hospital) and Chan Tai Kwong (Emeritus Professor of Medicine – Hong Kong University Queen Mary Hospital) over three decades of conscientious effort.
