Sale Overview
Christie's New York is proud to present the Post-War to Present auction on 13 March, the premier platform for today’s leading artistic voices and celebrated figures of the post-war period. The sale is underpinned by fresh perspectives on figuration through the works of Alice Neel, Yoshitomo Nara, and Danielle Mckinney. The sale also features pioneering artists of the post-war era, such as Cy Twombly, Alma Thomas, and Wayne Thiebaud, as well as exceptional works from bold artistic voices in the contemporary art discourse, including George Condo, Rashid Johnson, Loie Hollowell, and Glenn Ligon. Highlights include works from the prominent collections of Stefan T. Edlis, an Important Long Island Collector, and Shirley Ross Davis. Central to the sale are two charitable initiatives to benefit the American Friends of the Moderna Museet and the Insititute of Contemporary Art, Miami, comprised of works from KAWS and Igshaan Adams, respectively. Leading the Spring auction season, the Post-War to Present sale embodies the apex of the lineage of 20th and 21st century art, extending ample opportunities for every type of collector.
